I'd be a little wary of that kit.
What do you want to achieve? If your std shocks have done less than 60k an Eibach Pro spring kit will give you a reasonable drop and certainly improve the handling. |

Never read of anyomne using that on this forum, and I have done a LOT of reading.
So that might tell you something ![]() If you dont want the fairly big drop of H&R then as above, Eibach Pro Kit is probably worth a look. |

I'd NEVER go anywhere near a Jamex suspension setup. There's a reason why good dampers cost decent money, and in my opinion you're better off staying with OEM than going for a Jamex
You want to use 18/19" wheels, want a comfortable ride, and want it lower? Eibach Pro-Kit is the way to go if you just want a set of springs - more comfortable than the H&Rs. However your dampers might be a bit too worn to match well with the new springs. New dampers from BMW ?? Or, go for a decent matched spring/damper setup... But it will cost you a lot more than £250 ![]()

Sorry to jump on this, but talking about the Eibach pro-kit, does it offer any more of a drop over M-sport suspension which is already a touch lower than standard?
Thanks |

Yes - the Eibach kit is lower than the msport setup. I forget by how much, but it is lower and looks perfect imo. H&R is too low, Eibach pro-kit is bang on.

Yes - I noticed that when I researched them. I have got the pro-kit and it definately does drop the rear end. Not as much as the front, as this is where e9x's need the drop the most, but there certainly is some movement.

I've been considering getting new springs eventually- either eibach pro or m sport. Eibach pro are approx £150, but I'm concerned about the ride quality.
The msport springs wouldn't be as harsh (I presume?) as they are not as low, but not sure how much oem msport springs are - anybody know the price just for parts?

I have to disagree on the H&R's. Eibachs are great but the other is no harsher on ride in my opinion. Then, there's teins if you want it dropped more but for our roads and potholes I'd advise against.
As for your original question, I personally wouldn't go for Jamex. There are other coilover kits on the market that won't cost you a kidney. Maybe worth considering if you got miles on your current suspension.

a car rests on its springs, the height is set by the rate and length of the spring. shocks don't effect ride height. m sport springs give a 15mm or so drop from standard. that doesn't mean the spring is is 15mm shorter as it has a different rate so we don't know how much it compresses. |

remember ride quality is much more decided by dampers rather than springs. but ideally they need to be matched. eibach will be fine i'm sure. quite a drop from se though... |

The Eibach springs have a progressive rate, meaning that they start off similar to OEM springs (say for the first 50% of travel), then the more compressed they become the stiffer they become - this is to compensate for the reduced range of travel compared to OEM springs. OEM springs have a linear spring rate meaning that they maintain a similar stiffness throughout the whole of their range of travel. |

That's interesting, so the ride isn't going to be really any harsher on eibachs. I have to negotiate potholes and speed bumps on a daily basis so was thinking more the msport.
Rather than buy oem, Is there a decent aftermarket manufacturer that make msport height springs? Thanx for the info. Sorry for the thread jack.

For example Bilstein shocks often have a lower spring perch, fitting them with std springs will give a lower ride height. Several other aftermarket manufacturers offer shocks with an adjustable perch to allow variation of ride height. On reflection, if Eibach quote a 25mm drop on an SE and 15mm drop on an M Sport then it would be logical to assume that the difference is in the springs and not the shocks. |

Sorry Giff - I misunderstood you on that one.
But that would only apply to front struts, as the rear springs sit in fixed seats. (unless you go for rear coilovers of course) |
